[Nokia World] Nokia has been showing a prototype device that has a 3D stereo display. It uses a different image for the left and right eye and does not require wearing special glasses. Nokia says that it has been experimenting “for years” with the concept, but does not predict when or if stereo 3D would make it into a product.

If anything such advances will show up in your living room and on your computer before going into your pocket.

Other people, including KDDI, have looked into making stereo 3D mobile devices as well, but the display technology isn’t good enough and outside video content and gaming, there is not a lot of applications.

Also, it works just fine on the other end of the spectrum at 10% humidity.

Do you like the tablet PC form factor the most among all other computer designs? This machine is also fully sealed, making it suitable for use in healthcare environments so that it won’t carry germs as the doctor totes this around from one patient to another. This fully-rugged machine is able to withstand drops of up to 4 feet, and with Intel Health technology, you will be able to use it in conditions where humidity levels have reached an amazing 90% without worrying about condensation building up on the inside. Not only that, the Durabook RT10 can be sanitized with alcohol, bleach and other cleaning agents without missing a beat. Well, why not make sure the tablet you’re getting is durable enough to withstand the knocks and tumbles of life, with the Durabook RT10 from GammaTech.

It is too small for many productivity uses and that includes blogging (for us) and desktop-like web browsing for (most people). Right now, the Asus Eee T91 seems more attractive, but we’d like to see some independent battery life tests. There’s a video here. It looks better than the ones offered by Kohjinsha (cuteness sells) and the main weakness that we found is the 800×480 display.

Attempt this only if you have a decent level of engineering knowledge.
Interestingly enough, this mod uses parts from the Eee PC 900HA and 900A, where the guts are from the fomer while the screen area came from the latter. The Asus Eee PC 900HA is a venerable netbook back in its day, but when it is past its prime, why not take the innards and turn it into something else to extend its lease of life? That’s exactly what a member of the EeeUser Forums did, modifying his Eee PC 900Ha into a tablet, retaining the 8.

Archos hopes that 2009 will be a good year with plans to roll out a new multimedia internet tablet that is powered by the Android platform. Hopefully this year will be a better one for Archos (as well as all the other companies in the world) – it’d be a shame to see them bow out of the business.
