Another day another Palm Pre rumor: the rumored date comes from an internal Sprint document listing several handsets published by member Coal on SprintGurus and republished by Precentral.

This rumor is consistent with the one published earlier by Gizmodo, hinting that the Palm Pre viral video shoot “Protest Guy” is scheduled to be finished on June 5th. The official date stated by Palm is still “first half of 2009″. net.

They might have great hardware with this release, but as we’ve always maintained, value is in the software and we hope to see Dell integrate both software and hardware well to deliver an unbeatable user experience. Unfortunately, there is no specific launch window to date, and specifications are still shrouded in the dark as with the Dell Adamo. Word has it that Dell is inching closer towards its maiden smartphone – at least that’s what a research note by Kaufman Bros. analyst Shaw Wu says. Unless Dell is able to churn out something better than the iPhone or Palm Pre, things look pretty bleak.

One would expect Dell to embrace Windows Mobile as the operating system of choice based on the company’s tradition, but in this time and age, even old alliances can part ways.

Archos To Release Multimedia Internet Tablet Running On Android

This Android-powered device is said to launch sometime from the beginning of Q3 onwards, but apart from that, very little else is known save for the company’s aim to “integrate telephony to its future multimedia internet tablet” and deliver “communication and entertainment in a single mobile device”. Archos hopes that 2009 will be a good year with plans to roll out a new multimedia internet tablet that is powered by the Android platform. Hopefully this year will be a better one for Archos (as well as all the other companies in the world) – it’d be a shame to see them bow out of the business.

Acer has plans to release a trio of touch-enabled products that are powered by Windows 7, and there is the possibility of letting touch-enabled netbooks get a notable run if they receive good market acceptance as a viable alternative to tablet PCs. Acer also looks forward to in-cell touch panel technology being incorporated in the near future with faith in this technology making a mark in the market.

After all, in-cell touch solutions are more affordable compared to built-on touch solutions.
