On the other hand, it does look a wee bit fragile, so you might want to keep this out of reach of kids.

As for the remaining specifications of the Tempo F900 they are as follows :-

[Mobile World Congress] The Acer Tempo F900 sure as heck resembles the Samsung Omnia in some ways from the front, with the full touchscreen display and all alongside touch sensitive buttons on the bottom row. 1, so forget about seeing all the wonders of version 6.

Apply only if you own a netbook – after all, that’s the gist of it for individuals who received e-mails from Microsoft, inviting them to test a “specialized” version of Windows 7 that will run on less than stellar hardware.

Read the email and see if there is anything between the lines that we’ve missed. According to the specification sheet, it seems as though the target market would be netbooks despite the fact that DVD drives are listed as well.

”

Your geographic location may make you a good candidate for this providing feedback on this specialized version of Windows 7. “You are invited to join a beta trial for a specialized version of Windows 7. You will still have access to the Windows 7 Ultimate SKU, in addition you will be able to test this additional SKU.

After all, Microsoft’s latest earnings report showed that they made less money on the Windows front with one of the factors attributed to the rise of netbooks that run on Windows XP, which obviously has a much lower profit margin compared to Vista.

Do you think this step is taken since they know the netbook tide won’t stop?

After all, we’re so used to the sexy design of the iPod touch that it might take a while before our minds are mentally ready for such a radical design. Then again, something like this would probably take years to materialize and even longer to catch on. This transparent audio player is worn around the wrist like a watch, and if you’re not one who likes something transparent, you can always choose to display an image or colorful graphics – expect the battery life to suffer a bit if you take that road though. It is compatible with cell phones (presumably via Bluetooth connectivity) and completes its list of features with a heartbeat sensor. This transparent audio player works in tandem with a couple of earphones that is touted to offer “concert performance” level to your ears. Still, that would make designer Mac Funamizu a very happy person knowing that the designs conjured has broad appeal many years down the road.

The smart interface system will also have its own processor, memory and embedded OS. They will unleash a docking cradle for the phone which in turn connects to the network, an external hard drive, a keyboard and mouse, an LCD display and virtually any other desktop-based peripheral one would expect to use with a computer. No idea if Microsoft will make more money selling such an embedded OS or not, and will this be a third pillar of operating systems for Microsoft after Windows 7 and Windows Mobile? This patent application is described as “Smart interface system for mobile communication devices”. Microsoft has patented an interface that aims to transform your phone into a computer, and no doubt smartphones of today have progressed much in terms of hardware that they’re way more powerful than your desktop PC at the turn of the last century.

How does Microsoft intend to carry out their patent?
