On the other hand, it does look a wee bit fragile, so you might want to keep this out of reach of kids.

This device not only lets you wake up in a gentle manner using light instead of a grating alarm sound, but it also comes with an integrated iPod dock that lets you start the day with your favorite audio tracks. Whenever you want to nod off in dreamland, you can always let the light dim off slowly until you’re no longer conscious of what’s happening in this world, entering REM sleep.

Hopefully the bulb used won’t be too bright, otherwise the angle at which the Ataton is pointing at might actually be more of a distraction instead of a help. It remains to be seen whether this conceptual design will ever hit the market or not, but check out how it works. What you see here is an Ataton light, and don’t be surprised by its rather weird shape. Hopefully it will feature a built-in timer that turns it off automatically within minutes, assuming somebody tips it over accidentally. Tip it one way and it will turn on, and tipping the other way will turn it off.

Sounds pretty simple to use, but we guess this is only meant for homes that don’t have pets or kids around since they might treat this as a toy instead.

Eternaleds has rolled out the first LED light bulb in the world that relies on liquid-cooling technology despite looking and functioning exactly like a standard light bulb.

The HydraLux-4 LED Light Bulb is the puppy in question, where it boasts a host of advantages over a standard light bulb including saving money over time (up to an average of $157 over the lifetime of the bulb in terms of electricity and bulb replacement costs), being long lasting up to 35,000 hours, are environmentally friendly since it doesn’t come with any mercury at all, is fully dimmable to create just the right ambiance, can be used outdoors without any problem and is cool to the touch. Expect 8W, 12W and 16W versions of the HydraLux to be released before the year is over.

Hopefully they’ll be affordable enough when released. The answer is simple – solar power, as evident by this solar-powered reading light that is good for approximately 500 charges, amounting to up to one and a half years of constant use.

How to offer these people a better standard of living? Folks living in urban areas most probably take electricity for granted, unlike those in villages and rural parts of the world who still live off candlelight or moon light (when available) once the sun decides to hide for several hours. This device enables one to read and perform other tasks which require light long after dusk has fallen, using energy saving LEDs that offer high brightness levels without sipping up too much juice in the process.

The ElectraPour LED light show ought to be a staple in your home bar then, as it comes with a red LED light that actually lights up whenever any liquid passes through its spout, helping illuminate that stream of water (or poison of choice) all the way to its intended glass. 29 a pop, and if you want to get a dozen of these, they’ll be slightly more affordable at $81.

Known as the Auto-eco Light-control Twin Pa, it features a luminance sensor that is able to detects the brightness in an area of 3m diameter directly below the lamp (assuming your ceiling height is approximately 2.

Panasonic will release the Auto-eco Light-control Twin Pa sometime later this year in HHFZ4320 (89W) and HHFZ4220 (74W) models that will retail for approximately $389 and $357, respectively.
