When it comes to netbooks, which model has the best battery life among the lot? Chances are we’d go along with the MSI Wind U115 – after all, tests performed from independent parties have shown that the Wind U115 was able to churn out over 14 hours of power continuously courtesy of its 5200 mAh battery.

There have been weirder, redundant devices released prior to this. We wonder whether the name “Naivetek” has anything to do with the technologically naive, as a Battery Powered Battery Charger doesn’t really make sense. Yes, we did a second take too when we stumbled upon the Naivetek Battery Powered Battery Charger.

Imagine inserting D-sized power batteries to juice up rechargeable batteries in its place – why not just use the charger that those rechargeable batteries came with in the first place, or purchase non-rechargeables on the spot if you need to use them?

UMPCPortal comes back to the Clevo TN70M, a Tablet netbook that can last for about 7 hours with its 37wh battery. It is too small for many productivity uses and that includes blogging (for us) and desktop-like web browsing for (most people). Right now, the Asus Eee T91 seems more attractive, but we’d like to see some independent battery life tests. There’s a video here. It looks better than the ones offered by Kohjinsha (cuteness sells) and the main weakness that we found is the 800×480 display.

How come we don’t see more of the same thing for other camera models? Digital cameras do have a tendency of running out of juice during crucial moments, but the Nikon Battery Grip ensures this risk is reduced as it can hold a half dozen AA batteries which can be utilized to power your Nikon D200 via an adapter. The Nikon Battery Grip will retail for 99. It certainly makes plenty of sense getting this if you’re an avid shutterbug, while saving you a bunch of heartache from missing out on this picture perfect moments.

Kensington’s latest handiwork, the Charging Dock with Mini Battery comes with a dock that can not only hold your beloved Apple device, but also a battery pack that hooks up to the iPhone when it is in use. This is made possible since both the battery pack and the iPhone share the same dock power, where both devices are juiced up simultaneously to provide reserve power without having to occupy a second USB or power port. Doing so will grant the iPhone marathon-like ability with 30 more hours of music, 6 hours of surfing or 3 hours of yakking with your other half in another state. Pre-orders can be placed already, but shipping commences later this October.

Kensington has placed a $70 price point for the Charging Dock with Mini Battery.

We do wonder whether this will actually hit the market in due time or not, and what sort of cultural impact will it have in the long run. Dubbed the AtoD Rechargeable Battery for obvious reasons, you don’t have to worry about getting the wrong size ever again simply because one size fits all slots, thanks to the memory foam material it is made off.

We know that Sanyo’s collection of rechargeable Eneloop batteries do come with various external cases that automatically changes the size of the current battery to accomodate a wide variety of devices, and this concept plays on pretty much the same theme.

Needless to say, getting a larger cell battery for your netbook might be good for your productivity in the long run, but that also means your netbook has just grown a hideous hump behind. The 9-cell battery is tipped to last up to 12 hours according to the good people at LG, and it remains to be seen just how this figure was quoted – was it with all the options turned on, some, or none at all over the course of a dozen hours? Netbooks are notorious for their relatively poor battery life, but manufacturers have come up with larger capacity batteries including 9-cells, and the LG X130 is one such netbook to receive this benefit.
