Sonic announces CineVision Adaptive HD

Sonic’s latest CineVision Adaptive HD is a codec that was specially developed codec that will target streaming HD video content to Internet-connected devices specifically. Apart from that, the system is able to take advantage of multi-CPU encoding platforms for content distribution. This technology will merge both the CineVision HD encoding process alongside Widevine’s adaptive streaming system, and is touted to be able to churn out Blu-ray discs at resolutions up to 1080p. Concurrently, scalable streaming for buffer-free broadband playback will happen.
