Chrome-next browser beta 30% Faster

Posted by: software on: 29 Aug, 2009

Additionally, the new tab page has been improved and is now customizable. Google has announced on its Chrome blog that the beta of the next version of the web browser is 30% faster than the current non-beta version (as measured by the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks). The omnibox (url+search) also provides “better” suggestions.

Google probably hopes to become the reference development platform. Do drop a comment to share your first impressions! If you want to, you can download the beta here.

Developers might be interested by the fact that Chrome will start implementing HTML5 features.
